I feel The Nuclear pact is in the country;s interests. As you know we have been barred by the NSG (Nuclear suppliers group - a 44 nation nuclear fuel supplying group of countries) from acquiring fuel to run our nuclear plants. At present the plants are running with bare minimum capacity or some are not even running, ultimately rendering some of these highly expensive plants becoming scraps. Our civilian use of nuclear energy has thus gone for a toss. I do admit that the agreement do contain certain prohibitory clauses. The main clause of contention is that we cannot conduct further nuclear tests. But then no country in this earth is conducting physical nuclear tests since they are no longer required because these could be done by simulated tests in computer. When India approached Russia for supply of nuclear fuel, they politely declined and advised us to sign an agreement with USA. Other friendly nations like France too declined. Whether you agree or not the American "dadagiri" is a fact of life which all the countries including China have accepted. How can USA have "grip" over India. India will not be getting nuclear fuel from USA alone; there are 43 other countries from whom we can access nuclear fuel once the agreement is signed. It is strange that comrades pretend that they are not aware that India can come out of the treaty any time by simply giving a notice. The country will only be benefiting since we will be on the path to self sufficiency in our energy requirements. Blindly opposing USA is madness. Today only two countries are opposing India signing an agreement with USA - I'm sure you need not be a pundit to guess. Yes, it is China and Pakistan. Obviously they do not want our country to grow. And our desi comrades are giving company to them. If you study the history of communists in India, you will observe that they have never been loyal to their motherland. In 1942 during the quit India movement, they openly opposed the movement because it was causing difficulties for the British in war against the axis forces ( Germany Italy and Japan). Soviet Union was then with USA and Britain. Under specific orders from Stalin they had opposed Quit India movement and were openly supporting British. Again in 1962 when China invaded India our great comrade EMS openly supported China. Not only EMS, Jyoti Basu, Basavapunniah, Ranadive, Promode Dasgupta Dange, all supported Chinese attack. Even now China has laid claims to Arunachal Pradesh but not once will our comrades say a word against the Chinese. There are 'n' number of examples of the treachory of our comrades. For them the party is supreme. Even motherland is secondary to party. Whatever rubbish decision is taken by the party they would follow without blinking an eyelid even if it means opposing our own country. Please be objective and do not be led by what your comrades preach. Correct me if I am wrong. Please explain how our National Security can be compromised by signing the agreement. By your logic, it would appear that both China and Pakistan is very much worried that India's security would be compromised by signing agreement with USA.- Show quoted text -

I am sending my views, lets put this in forum of our Madhuravanam Community so we can discuss such things with our members and i am more inersted in listening to ur thinking It will be more interesting for u as u like to discuss and write on such issues
Personally i feel India should not sign the nuclear pact as it will be against the National security. We need energy and we should find alternatives other than depending America. Its not coz left have blind political view against America. Every matters including the international issues are discussed from the root level and party views are according to it and i dont think Karat can easily change the party's views. Personally i feel America is trying to have a grip over India, You can see that even now. U can see America dictating terms, How can they do that when we r going for a mutual understanding? America is facing a Major fuel crisis their colonies in the middle east has dried up they need new resources and also need to back up their petro dollar economy, so they need wars and more colonies. They will start intruding into the civil issues of other countries and give arms to the fighting locals, so they can colonize that regions. You can see that happening from Saudi Arabia to Iraq, next the Iran and more diplomatically to India. As a developing major India should put more efforts into researches to find alternative sources of Energy like Hydrogen Plants, Solar, Tidal and many other such technlgies. If we study closely we can find out who is slowing down such technology, to protect vested interests of Oil companies and a Nation with 2% of Crude oil production and a Criminal consumption of 1/4th of total crude oil production of the world for luxury at others cost. When countries like India, Africa, and other under developed countries which consumes less crude oil energy and pays more for it, America sells fuel for less than the price of a bottle of water and whom should we listen to ? I do-not think America is the answer....and its sure that American enemies will target India in the future....Of course we should have the will to fight against such terrorism..But for who's interest ? As i said Karat is the secretary of a Party which studies all issues in party circles and intellectuals including scientists to formulate a Party Manifesto a political stand.or political strategy which the party think is for a Nation which have major part of its Population Socially and economically weak. They surely thinks that the American order should not be the order of the world. Though inspired from the communist ideology what i think is that they have to find a better adaptation of it for India, which has enormous culture, history and geography.
